Nkuna hopeful of maintaining unbeaten run
Redlions coach Collins Nkuna has expressed his belief that his team can maintain its TNM super league admirable status as a team yet to taste a defeat when they take on second placed TNM super league Lilongwe giants Civo service united.
The Zomba based outfit has been enjoying an out of the ordinary form in the league, as they have not lost a game, and has seen it produce stunning results against the league’s big boys. However Nkuna faces an uphill task of trying to preserve his status when his side visits the capital city to take on the inform Civil Service United and Kamuzu Barracks.
The capital city has proven to be a tricky place to go, as evidenced by the results of some senior teams from other regions, who have gone on a point’s donation mission when they have visit the capital city. Teams like Big Bullets Mighty wanderers and most recently Moyale barracks have came back from the capital city with nothing.
When speaking in a telephone interview Nkuna, says his team is well prepared for the challenge and is hopeful that it maintains its marvelous status.
“We are well prepared for the game, the boys have worked so hard in training and the morale is high. We know that going to Lilongwe it’s a big challenge because civil is a team which is in form and is on second place in the league.
“But we are going their knowing that everything is possible, it’s our hope that we can go there and return unbeaten, but god is the one who decides in the end so we will take what is going to come on that day, but our team is very ready to fight.”
When asked on what his secret is, that his team is yet to taste a defeat, Nkuna attributed it to discipline.
“To be doing well in football they is no other secrets than discipline and hard work, our team is well disciplined and its easy for them to take what we are teaching them.” he said
When asked to comment on how his team is preparing civil service united defender john Lanjesi says that his team is set to revenge on their painful presidential cup exit by it (Redlions)
“Our team has prepared for the game; it’s going to be a tough game because we want to revenge what they did to us in the presidential cup. They defeated us at home 2 nil at our own backyard so think tips is a big opportunity for a revenge he said
“We want to ask our supporters to come in large numbers to give us the morale” he said
