Bullets, United moving closer to clinch the remaining spot
The battle to secure the final and vacant spot in the 2012/2013 K20 million standard bank knock out cup is getting tougher and tougher, as this week saw two teams missing out in an attempt to clinch the final spot.
Azam tigers and Redlions might have won the standard bank customers votes to buy their way into the preliminary round but that alone was not even closer to enough to occupy the vacant spot, as they t had to get past the stern challenge of fighting off Blantyre united and big bullets respectively.
Bullets in a fight
As I already pasted in my early blog that Redlions would have an uphill task of trying to get past the inform bullets, the Zomba based soldiers struggled to cope with the attacking prowess of Gabadinho Mhango and Hesston Munthali.
Talking about Gaba, he has been marvelous in the cup games as has already helped bullets to book a place into the finals of the presidential cup, but we also have to be aware that he is yet to score in super league. Gabadinho and Hesston Munthali‘s strikes were enough to take bullets to the next level.
On other side, Reo Mpulula had to fight off his former side Blantyre united, a team which has given them tough runs, in addition to that with the pressure of getting a handsome contract at one of the countries big team’s, piled on his head Blantyre united had an edge in this game.
Unanswered Goals from Dalitso Dailesi and Isaac Mphamba proved too much for Azam Tigers to save the day.
This proves that Blantyre united and big bullets will battle it out next week to find a team which will complete the remaining slot.
The battle is on.
