Flames
ready for a test match
Malawi national football team (the flames) Monday arrived
in Liberia for a testing match against the Liberian national team.
Flames will take on Liberia in its quest to prepare
for the mouthwatering encounter against Ghana on 9 September in Accra. Funny
enough though, Ghana will also play against the same opposition will take on tomorrow
on 4th September. Ghana plays Liberia on 7th September.
Whether it’s by coincident or tactical by the Ghanaian FA that remains to be
seen as we believe that will not affect us in any way (will burn the black
stars).
With the TNM super league now becoming strong and
more vibrant, coach Kinnah the special one Phiri hasn’t overlooked it either, nine
home based players have make it to the 20 man squad list, which is a welcome
development, comparing to the past times where he could only pick 2 players and fill up
the squad with inactive professional players.
The squad is as follows.
Keepers
- Simplex Nthala, Owen
Chaima and Charles SwiniDefenders - James Sangala, Moses Chavula, Limbikani Mzava, Harry Nyirenda, Pilira Makupe, and Steve Chagoma.
Midfielders- Joseph Kamwendo, Robert Ng’ambi, Davi Banda, Frank Banda, Chimango Kayira, Peter Wadabwa, Ndaziona Chatsalira
Strikers- Jimmy Zakazaka, Robin Ngalande, Atusaye Nyondo and Gabadihno Mhango
Note: The players in board are from super league.
