D day for flames
Malawi national football team the flames, this weekend takes
on Ghana (the black stars) in the first leg of the final African cup qualifier.
The flames are just 180 minutes away (two legs) from
qualifying for 2013 Africa cup of nations in south Africa, but that will not
come on the silver platter, as they have to first pass the daunting challenge
of seeing off the strong Ghana side.
The black stars goes into this match boasting a squad full
of world class players who plies their
trade in Europe, as if that is not enough, former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has return
from his self imposed exile and he is determined to break the hearts of
Malawians.
Nonetheless, despite Ghana being the top dogs into this match
and boasting having world class players in their squad, flames Coach Kinnah
Phiri maintains a high belief that the flames can come out victorious in the Saturday’s
encounter.
The flames, has a stunning record when it comes to taking on
the so called African giants, I guess you might remember that the flames are
known as the giant killers; hopefully the flames will get the job done in Accra.
